MeetCaregivers Gives Hundreds of Free Home Care Hours to Boston’s Seniors

MeetCaregivers is an innovative Massachusetts-based home care company that matches seniors and families with highly-qualified caregivers. This holiday, we are giving hundreds of hours of free home care to needy seniors and families.

Since becoming a MassChallenge finalist in 2015, we have grown into a marketplace to meet Massachusett’s home care needs. We pre-screen each caregiver and create video profiles so families can get to know each candidate better. This makes it much easier to find the perfect match for their aging parents. In addition, we provide a range of medical supplies and products for families and seniors.

MeetCaregivers Care Portal

We launched the Care Portal to help families track and coordinate their loved ones’ care more easily. This innovative tool also informs home care providers of the senior’s conditions beforehand to provide even better care.

When MeetCaregivers first started as a company, they received plenty of support from local organizations such as MassChallenge and Entrepreneurship For All.

According to Florence Furaha, co-founder and CEO of MeetCaregivers,Florence 2

“As we continue to grow and service seniors, we want to make sure that we also give back to our communities. We know that home care is expensive for many families. We try to make it as affordable as possible at MeetCaregivers by charging an average of $20-$25 per hour depending of the type of care that is needed. However, these rates can still be too much for many seniors who cannot afford it. We often talk and meet with seniors who need the care or could really use a companion to just keep them company or take them out for a walk, but they do not have the finances to hire a caregiver.”

Free Home Care for the Holidays

MeetCaregivers is here to make the upcoming holiday season easier for you and your loved ones.

We are offering a free caregiving program for the holiday season, which will give seniors at least four hours of free home care. This benefit can assist with daily activities during the holiday, such as bathing, housekeeping, feeding, or transportation. This care can give family caregivers a much-needed respite break.

“It’s our way of giving back, and our goal is to continue to find ways to give back to our communities,” says Furaha. “The holiday season is a great time to start and make a difference.”
